PDX RC underground classes
Novice
The Novice class is for entry-level drivers that are new to RC racing. The rules for this division are:

Chassis: Any 2wd 1/10th electric off-road competition vehicle or 1/10th RTR vehicle with RTR electronics. We strongly discourage the use of 4wd vehicles in this division.

Motor: 27T brushed motors, or 17.5T to 21.5T brushless motors or the original RTR power system for your specific vehicle

Batteries: 6-cell NiMH batteries, or 2-cell hard case Li-Poly batteries
-
Tires: Carpet tires
-
Bodies: Any body style is allowed.

Minimum Weight: None.
21.5 Buggy
The 21.5 Buggy division is for beginner and intermediate racers who wish to run 2wd buggies with stock/spec motors, and is often the largest divisions at the track. The rules for this division are:

Chassis: Any 1/10th off-road 2-wheel drive buggy style chassis.

Motor: Muchmore, Reedy, or Fantom 21.5 spec brushless motor. set at 20 degrees
-
ESC (Electronic Speed Control): ROAR Approved Non-Timing ESC’s, “Blinky” only
-
Batteries: 2-cell hard case Li-Poly batteries charged at less than 10 amps
-
Tires: Any wheel with carpet tires intended for the class is allowed.

Bodies: Any 2WD buggy body intended for the class.
-
Minimum Weight: 1500 grams.

Gearing of 72 spur and 31 pinion

Sportsman Buggy
The 17.5 Buggy division is for intermediate racers who wish to run 2wd buggies with stock/spec motors. This division is the most competitive divisions at the track. The rules for this class are:

Chassis: Any off-road 2-wheel drive buggy style chassis.

Motor: Hobbywing Justock FTM G2.1 17.5 fixed timing motor.

Fixed Gearing 26/72 for AE cars 24/72 TLR cars 25/74 X-ray cars

ESC (Electronic Speed Control): ROAR Blinky mode

Batteries: 2-cell hard case Li-Poly batteries charged at less than 10 amps and no high amp discharge or battery warmers
-
Tires: Any wheel with rubber tires intended for the class is allowed.

Bodies: Any 2WD buggy body intended for the class.

Minimum Weight: 1500 grams.

Pro Stock Buggy
The 17.5 Buggy division is for advanced/expert racers who wish to run 2wd buggies with stock/spec motors. This division is the most competitive divisions at the track. The rules for this class are:

Chassis: Any off-road 2-wheel drive buggy style chassis.

Motor: ROAR Approved stock 17.5 spec brushless motor or specter motor

ESC (Electronic Speed Control): ROAR Approved Timing Blinky mode

Batteries: 2-cell hard case Li-Poly batteries charged at less than 40 amps no battery warmers

Tires: Any wheel with rubber tires intended for the class is allowed.

Bodies: Any 2WD buggy body intended for the class.

Minimum Weight: 1500 grams.

Mod 2wd Buggy
The Modified Buggy division is for advanced/expert racers who wish to run modified motors, and is one of the fastest and most demanding divisions at the track. The rules for this class are:

13.5 4WD Buggy
The 13.5 4WD Buggy division is for intermediate racers who wish to run 4-wheel drive buggies with ROAR approved 13.5 motors for the most challenging and fastest divisions of racing at the track. The rules for this class are:

Mod 4WD Buggy
The Mod 4WD Buggy division is for advanced racers who wish to run 4-wheel drive buggies with ROAR approved mod motors for the most challenging and fastest divisions of racing at the track. The rules for this class are:

Stock Stadium Truck
The Stock Stadium Truck division is for intermediate to advanced racers who wish to run 2wd stadium trucks with stock/spec motors and is one of our largest and most competitive divisions at the track. The rules for this division are:

Chassis: Any off-road 1/10 2-wheel drive truck style chassis (excluding short course).

Motor: ROAR Approved stock 13.5 spec brushless motor.

ESC (Electronic Speed Control): ROAR Approved Timing and boost allowed

Batteries: 6-cell NiMH batteries, or 2-cell hard case Li-Poly batteries

Tires: Any wheel with carpet tires intended for the class is allowed.
